Christmas All Year Round!

About Us

Christmas on the Lakes, the original all year-round Christmas shop in the heart of The Lake District national park, awaits you.
Take a wander down the streets of Christmas on the Lakes inspired by a traditional Dickensian Christmas. Pass the old whiskey barrels, market carts, and pay a visit to Scrooge and Marley's, Tiny Tim's Trinkets, Mr Fezziwigs and Cratchit's Curios to find a wonderful collection of all your favourite things.

Our family-owned store is filled with carefully chosen magical items from all over the world. With twenty years of experience under our Santa belt, husband and wife, Chris and Carmen Hunt along with our team of Elves take considerable pride in sourcing original and unusual products catering for the many different tastes and needs of our incredibly Christmassy customers.

From hand-glittered advent calendars and frosted candles to Olde World musical snow globes, glass ornaments and of course our increasingly popular destination baubles, designed in-house. These hand painted glass baubles are bespoke to us and feature many of the popular destinations in The Lake District. We aim to support local businesses and source items that are made in the UK where possible.

Since 2018, we have enjoyed the support of locals and tourists alike in Bowness-on-Windermere. We have offered a decorating service far and wide by creating fireplace swags, garlands, and wreaths for customers on request. Most of all, we love celebrating the run up to Christmas with our customers by running our events in December. The excitement is contagious and in the past, we have enjoyed visits from the magical reindeer that help Father Christmas to deliver all his presents, the nostalgic Salvation Army Band bringing goosebumps to all who listen, festive face painting and storytelling. A tradition we feel passionate about that enables us to thank our loyal customers and community for their continued support.

We look forward to your next visit and to hearing all about your favourite Christmas traditions and memories. Not long now!
Good Tidings one and all.
